Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balm

As you know by now, I love me some tinted lip balms.  I especially love the ones that are as moisturizing as normal lip balm, but also have good color pay-off.  That’s where Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balms come in.  They are fabulous, and priced just right.  They are definite winners in my book.

Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balms live up to the name.  They truly feel like lip balms and I could easily swap them out with my Blistex Fruit Smooties (my lip balm of choice) without feeling a difference.  In fact, they are even more moisturizing than the ever popular EOS lip balms (though not egg shaped).  Here is what Palladio has to say about them: “A unique emollient that contains natural UV filters such as Caprylic/Capric Trigyceride (a liquid derived from Coconut Oil), this exclusive formula protects against the sun while deeply penetrating the lips’ surface with intense conditioning. At less than half the price of department store competitors, these balms are available in a wide variety of sheer colors that are sure to look gorgeous on any skin tone.”

Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balm in Brownie

Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balms are shaped like Chapstick.  I don’t find that a problem, but it is more difficult to be precise than if it had a pointed head.  The pigmentation on these lip balms is fantastic.  They are certainly more tinted than L’Oreal Colour Riche Balms, and are on par with most of the Jordana Easyshine Glossy Lip Colors (reviewed here).  Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balm in Brownie (pictured above and swatched below) is one of the more sheer shades.  Even so, it is definitely noticeable on the lips and provides a lovely sheer raisin color.  Brownie is not shimmery, but it is glossy and gives a subtle shine.

Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balm in Bronzy Pink

Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balm in Bronzy Pink in a gorgeous rose-gold shade.  It is more opaque than Brownie, and also more of a frost or shimmer shade.  It is a real stunner on, and would be a wonderful shade for the summer.  I find that the Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balms last on me for a few hours before I need to re-apply, which is great for a lip balm.  When they do fade, they do it evenly and without drying or getting patchy.  Bronzy Pink leaves its shimmer behind once the color fades.  I love Bronzy Pink, and think it is such a beautiful color.

There are many tinted lip balm type products on the market these days, but I think Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balms stand out as one of the better options.  They are truly moisturizing enough to be called a balm, and tinted enough to provide some great color on the lips.  You can find Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balms at Ulta or at Sally’s Beauty Supply, and they retail for around $3-$4.

As you saw in yesterday’s “Spotted” post, I went shopping this weekend and came home with some goodies to review here on BiBB.  Here are the items that I picked up that I plan to do discuss in more depth:

  • City Color Spring Fling Collection blushes in Pink and Terracotta- You may recognize these blushes from this post.  I finally broke down and got both of them.  Keep your eyes peeled for a review.
  • NYX Slide On Eye Pencil in “Golden Olive”- I’ve been wanting to try these eyeliners o see if they are a cheaper alternative to my Stila liners, which I love, but are too expensive.  I have heard them compared to Urban Decay liners, so I’ve got my fingers crossed.  I’ll let you know how it turns out.
  • Essence Lipstick in “Look at Me!”- I’ve been wanting to try more products from this line.  I adore the nail polishes that I have and also my Essence lip glosses, so I’m excited to try the lipstick as well.
  • Wet n Wild Megashield Lip Color in “Ring Around the Rosy”- Another hybrid between a lipstick and a lip balm.  I am very interested to see how Wet n Wild’s version holds up to the gold standard (In my mind, anyway) of the Revlon Lip Butters.
  • Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balm in “Bronzy Pink”- I finally picked one of these up after hearing emilynoel83 rave about them time and time again.  These lip balms are supposed to be as pigmented as a lipstick, so you will see in my review if they really are.

In addition to the items that I am going to review, I also picked up two new shades of the Jordana Easyshine Glossy Lip Color that I reviewed in this post.  Since I already did a review, I didn’t want to post about them again, but I wanted to show you swatches of these additional colors.  The shades that I purchased are “Sugar Plum” and “Sweet Strawberry”.

And here is “Sweet Strawberry”

They are just as great as the original two Easyshine Glossy Lip Colors that I have (and use all the time).  I strongly recommend these to anyone who doesn’t want to pay full price for Lip Butters.  $2.49 is much easier to swallow than $7.49.
