Maybelline Boho Gold

Maybelline Boho Gold LE 2012 Fall Fashion Week Collection

Boho Gold is the last shade I have to show you from the Maybelline LE 2012 Fall Fashion Week Nail Polish Collection.  Click on the links see my review and swatches of Downtown Brown and Metal Icon.  The displays that carry these polishes have been popping up everywhere, so you should have no problems finding them now.

Maybelline Boho Gold LE 2012 Fall Fashion Week Collection

Boho Gold is an absolutely beautiful gold with a green flip.  It is similar to O.P.I. Just Spotted the Lizard or Chanel Peridot, but it is not a dupe.  All three shades look alike in the bottle, but on the nail it’s a different story.  Boho Gold is definitely more gold that the other two shades, with just a subtle bit of green when the light hits it.  In some lights it appears bronze and even copper on the nail.  It’s a stunning shade, and it’s perfect for me since I’m a fiend for green/gold duochromes.

The swatches below are two coats, topped with Seche Vite.  Boho Gold applied smoothly and evenly, though it is on the thin side.  I only used two coats to achieve opacity but the polish looks thin on the nail, so three coats may be more pleasing for some of you.

Like I said, even though I own O.P.I. Just Spotted the Lizard, Boho gold is different enough to warrant owning both.  I love it.  Even my husband, who never notices my nail polish, complimented me on the shade.  He said it was cool to see the colors shift as the light hit my nails at different angles.  So there you have it, husband approved.  😉  I have been really pleased with all of the Maybelline LE 2012 Fall Fashion Week Color Show Nail Polishes.  It’s a great collection for Fall, with several winners in the mix.

About beautyinbudgetblog

I am a self proclaimed eyeshadow junkie whose main hobbies include shopping, reading, singing, and mainlining caffeine while hanging out with my friends. I love interesting socks and have amassed quite a collection. The place that I want to visit before I die would be Greece. I like to read all seven Harry Potter books once a year the way some people read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. (Sorry JRRT, but JKR kicks butt in my book.) I love art, and use my creativity in many different ways through painting, crafts, and makeup. I love to cook and try new things, and I especially love to eat. My favorite "date" is to go wine tasting, and do so with my husband once or twice a year. I love musical theater and think the world would be much better off if we all just watched more musicals. I am 100% a cat person and, although I think dogs can be really cute and sweet, they make me sneeze so cats will always rule. I love faeries and magic, mythology, theology, philosophy, and psychology. I regularly do logic puzzles and sometimes crosswords. I adore Bette Midler, Betty White, and Carol Burnett. I am not ashamed to admit that I watch Glee. I would like to start making some of my own clothes because I can't stop myself from buying fabric. I'm sure that there is much more, but I'm suddenly distracted by something shiny.

  1. I’m always picking this one up but have yet to buy it. It’s a beautiful shade of gold, but now seeing it swatched, I wish the green showed a little more.
