L’Oreal LE Project Runway 2012 Collection

The Seductive Temptress- L’Oreal Project Runway 2012 Collection

Last week, I told you that I had finally found the L’Oreal LE Electric Fantasie Project Runway 2012 Collection at my local Walgreens.  While I was there, I picked up three items from the collection.  As I mentioned before, the collection is split up into four mini collections representative of four different muses: the Artsy Muse, the Enchanted Queen, the Seductive Temptress, and the Wise Mystic.  There are many really nice elements to this collection, but as it turns out the three items that I purchased all come from the Seductive Temptress set.

The Temptress’ Kiss

I opted for this Colour Riche lipstick in The Temptress’ Kiss because I don’t have any dark plum lipsticks like this, and it is right on trend for Fall/Winter.  Dark lips are in, and I could not resist this gorgeous shade.  The Temptress’ Kiss is a deep, red-toned plum with gold flecks.  It glides on smoothly and is opaque in one swipe, though it can be built up for an even more intense look.  The shimmer is definitely noticeable, but it does not look chunky.  Luckily, you can’t feel the shimmer on the lips (no grit at all), so no worries there.  I didn’t notice any discernible taste or scent.  I was a little worried about how dark it is, but I find it to be a very wearable lipstick.  Though matte shades are more on-trend, I think the gold shimmer helps to keep the dark shade from looking too severe.

The Temptress’ Touch

The first of the two polishes that I got is The Temptress’ Touch.  Sorry about the nail wheel swatch, but I ran out of time.  The Temptress’ Touch applies exactly true to the bottle.  It’s a lovely yellow-toned green with a gold sheen that shimmers when the light catches it.  I love green polish all year long, but this shade would be a great shade for the spring.  It is also a good Halloween shade.  Sometimes those zombie greens can get a little too sickly looking, but The Temptress’ Touch remains a pretty shade that is still reminiscent of those creepier colors.

The Temptress’ Power

My favorite of the three products that I purchased is this polish in The Temptress’ Power.  By now you are probably well aware of my love for duochromes and The Temptress’ Power doesn’t disappoint.  The Temptress’ Power is a sheer iridescent peach with a light blue/green flip.  As per usual, I had a hard time catching the color change quality in pictures, but you can get the general idea by these swatches.  The top image is in sunlight, and the bottom is indoor light.

You can see that at some angles the peach is very warm, but when the light hits the green, it really cools the shade down.  This is two coats on the nail, which is mostly opaque.  There is just the faintest hint of visible nail line in real life, but it is hardly noticeable and would probably disappear in three coats.

There were several other items that piqued my interest, but I feel like L’Oreal prices are just too high for the drugstore.  Even though I got my items on sale, I still couldn’t justify getting anything else at the time.  Regular retail price (at my Walgreens) for The Temptress’ Kiss is $10.99, and the two polishes are $6.49 each.  I would love to get a couple of the lip glosses and blushes, and maybe one of the shadow quads, but I’m not thrilled with the price.  Have you hauled any of the the L’Oreal LE Electric Fantasie Project Runway 2012 Collection?  What did you get?  Let me know in the comments below.

About beautyinbudgetblog

I am a self proclaimed eyeshadow junkie whose main hobbies include shopping, reading, singing, and mainlining caffeine while hanging out with my friends. I love interesting socks and have amassed quite a collection. The place that I want to visit before I die would be Greece. I like to read all seven Harry Potter books once a year the way some people read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. (Sorry JRRT, but JKR kicks butt in my book.) I love art, and use my creativity in many different ways through painting, crafts, and makeup. I love to cook and try new things, and I especially love to eat. My favorite "date" is to go wine tasting, and do so with my husband once or twice a year. I love musical theater and think the world would be much better off if we all just watched more musicals. I am 100% a cat person and, although I think dogs can be really cute and sweet, they make me sneeze so cats will always rule. I love faeries and magic, mythology, theology, philosophy, and psychology. I regularly do logic puzzles and sometimes crosswords. I adore Bette Midler, Betty White, and Carol Burnett. I am not ashamed to admit that I watch Glee. I would like to start making some of my own clothes because I can't stop myself from buying fabric. I'm sure that there is much more, but I'm suddenly distracted by something shiny.
