Ipsy, May 2013

Ipsy bag, May 2013

It’s Ipsy time again, and things are getting pretty interesting.  Ipsy is branching out and varying the bags based on subscriber’s questionnaires.  There was a lot of variety this month, and all of the options were great.  I am really pleased with my May Ispy bag, so let’s get into it.

May’s theme is Spring Fling.  “Are you ready for a fabulous fling with the fantastic products of May’s “Spring Fling” Glam Bag? Delight your beauty routine with products that will get you blooming from head to toe!

Yaby Concealer Refill in Buff

Yaby Concealer Refill in Buff:  “Yaby concealers have a creamy texture and are extremely easy to apply. They are highly pigmented to correct any imperfection on the face and body, are creamy and gentle for around the eyes and are tear proof! Vegan friendly and contains no animal byproducts.  As an added bonus, the heavy duty metal reusable pans are designed to be sturdy and not easily warped – sanitize empty pans with alcohol and keep some for other special beauty mixing needs.”  I’m pretty sure that this is full sized.  Retails for $4.85 at yabycosmetics.com.

Zoya Nail Polish in Piaf

Zoya Nail Polish in Piaf: “Zoya Nail Polish and Treatments puts beauty, fashion and style into every bottle with innovative custom color creations and fashion trend adaptation resulting in a truly luxury cosmetic experience. Created with the finest quality pigments and finishes, each bottle of Zoya is as special and unique as the woman who created it and whose name graces every bottle – Zoya herself! The award-winning, ultra long-wearing Zoya formula is also vegan friendly and Big5Free.”  Full sized bottle, retails for $8.00 at zoya.com.

NuMe Finishing Serum

NuMe Finishing Serum:  “Light as a feather, NuMe’s Finishing Serum jives with your unique hair type to produce that polished shine and healthy glow that your hair craves.  This light, greaseless, and humidity resistant formula delivers a straight-up glossy finish. St. Tropez One Night Only Instant Glow Body Lotion

St. Tropez One Night Only Instant Glow Body Lotion: “St. Tropez’s lightweight cream is the perfect party accessory! It gives you an instant beautiful golden glow that’s as easy to put on as it is to take off. Who is it for?: Anyone who wants a quick boost of color when you’re running out of time, heading to a party or want a bronzed glow for an event. For a quick, non-committal, instant tan that simply washes off with soap and water. Why is it different?: Free from tanning agents, One Night Only is transfer-resistant so you can tan and go – and look gorgeous!”  Retails for $18.00 for 5 fl oz at sttropeztan.com; sample size 1.69 fl oz worth $6.08.

Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss in Pink

Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss in Pink: “This exclusive, pre-launch of the Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss will give your lips brilliant shine while keeping them healthy and nourished. A combination of antioxidant-rich acai and goji berries, natural minerals and sweet agave nectar that will give your lips radiant color! Made with certified organic ingredients.”  This looks full sized to me.  Retails for $15.00 at juicebeauuty.com.

The grand total value of my may Ipsy bag is $38.86, plus the $110 NuMe coupon and the adorable zig-zag bag.  I am really happy with all of the items in this month’s bag.  Sure, there are other shades of lipgloss, or other brands that I may have preferred, but I can’t complain about what I recieved because they are all very nice products.  I can’t wait to try the St. Tropez bronzing lotion.  The Zoya polish is the perfect summer color.  The concealer is a pretty good match, and the lipgloss is cute.

Ipsy is $10.00 a month (plus tax if you live in certain states).  I’ve been a subscriber since October and have been very happy.  I think Ipsy is a great subscription, and definitely recommend it.  Follow this link to sign up for your own Ipsy bag.  I can’t wait to see what is in store for next month.

About beautyinbudgetblog

I am a self proclaimed eyeshadow junkie whose main hobbies include shopping, reading, singing, and mainlining caffeine while hanging out with my friends. I love interesting socks and have amassed quite a collection. The place that I want to visit before I die would be Greece. I like to read all seven Harry Potter books once a year the way some people read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. (Sorry JRRT, but JKR kicks butt in my book.) I love art, and use my creativity in many different ways through painting, crafts, and makeup. I love to cook and try new things, and I especially love to eat. My favorite "date" is to go wine tasting, and do so with my husband once or twice a year. I love musical theater and think the world would be much better off if we all just watched more musicals. I am 100% a cat person and, although I think dogs can be really cute and sweet, they make me sneeze so cats will always rule. I love faeries and magic, mythology, theology, philosophy, and psychology. I regularly do logic puzzles and sometimes crosswords. I adore Bette Midler, Betty White, and Carol Burnett. I am not ashamed to admit that I watch Glee. I would like to start making some of my own clothes because I can't stop myself from buying fabric. I'm sure that there is much more, but I'm suddenly distracted by something shiny.

  1. Thanks for the post! I signed up for Ipsy yesterday and they said I’d be receiving the May bag, so it will be interesting to see if I get the same stuff as you or some different things. My coworker who is an Ipsy subscriber got a lip pencil and a different shade of nail polish.
