NYX Butt Naked- Turn the Other Cheek palette

I received  this email from NYX, and those of you who love neutral eyeshadows will like this news.  NYX has released a new Butt Naked palette for the Fall.  The NYX Butt Naked- Turn the Other Cheek palette picks up where the original Butt Naked Eye palette left off.  According to NYX: “Enhance your natural beauty with this sensational collection of warm neutral tones. 15 sultry and seductive eye shadow shades, 4 matte and pearl blushers and 3 pearlescent face illuminators. This kit will make you and them take a double take.”

For comparison, this is the Original NYX Butt Naked Eye palette.  You can see that the eyeshadow shades are more on the cool-toned side of things.  I see a lot of grays and taupes in the original.  All four blushes are warm and rosy, and there is definitely a bronzer shade in addition to the illuminating powders.  All of the pictures can be enlarged for a closer look.

New NYX Butt Naked- Turn the Other Cheek palette

The new Butt Naked- Turn the Other Cheek palette (how much do you love that name?) is much warmer than the original.  not all of the shades are warm-toned, but most of them are and there are a lot of browns and golds.  Three of the blushes have subtle mauve tones and one is a warm golden peach.  Unlike the original palette, Butt Naked- Turn the Other Cheek does not feature an obvious bronzer.

Do you need both palettes?  Well, that depends on how much you love neutral shades and how many neutrals you already own.  I personally think that there is enough difference in these two palettes to warrant getting both if you are so inclined.  I love warm neutrals and I’ve never met a brown shadow that I don’t like, so I think the Butt Naked- Turn the Other Cheek palette is beautiful.  Right now both Butt Naked palettes are available at nyxcosmetics.com for $25.00 each.  Will you be hauling?

About beautyinbudgetblog

I am a self proclaimed eyeshadow junkie whose main hobbies include shopping, reading, singing, and mainlining caffeine while hanging out with my friends. I love interesting socks and have amassed quite a collection. The place that I want to visit before I die would be Greece. I like to read all seven Harry Potter books once a year the way some people read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. (Sorry JRRT, but JKR kicks butt in my book.) I love art, and use my creativity in many different ways through painting, crafts, and makeup. I love to cook and try new things, and I especially love to eat. My favorite "date" is to go wine tasting, and do so with my husband once or twice a year. I love musical theater and think the world would be much better off if we all just watched more musicals. I am 100% a cat person and, although I think dogs can be really cute and sweet, they make me sneeze so cats will always rule. I love faeries and magic, mythology, theology, philosophy, and psychology. I regularly do logic puzzles and sometimes crosswords. I adore Bette Midler, Betty White, and Carol Burnett. I am not ashamed to admit that I watch Glee. I would like to start making some of my own clothes because I can't stop myself from buying fabric. I'm sure that there is much more, but I'm suddenly distracted by something shiny.

  1. I saw something about this a week or two ago and thought it looked neat! I don’t have the original palette (or the new one, duh), but I like the look of both! I’ve had the original one on my Amazon wish list forever, but just haven’t pulled the trigger. 🙂
