The Rumors are True about UD Naked 3

UD Naked 3 coming soon

The rumors are true about the Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay.  It is indeed coming.  What makes the third (fourth if you count Naked Basics) installment of the Naked shadow line a little different is that the shades will be in the pink/rose/purple family instead of bronzes and browns.  From what I’ve seen, the shades will be both cool and warm toned.  The exact launch date is uncertain, but I believe that the going theory is a December 16th launch.  It could be as early as late November or as late as January 2014, but I’m thinking a pre-Christmas launch is the smartest choice.  I assume pricing will be similar to the other two Naked palettes, at around $50.

Below is a short video that Urban Decay posted to it’s Youtube page to confirm the rumors.  I love my Naked 2 palette, and use it all the time.  A part of me wants to rush out and get Naked 3 as soon as it comes out.  On the other hand, I’m not sure how unique the shades are going to be and how much use I will personally get out of them.  How about you?  Are you excited about Naked 3, or are you done with the Naked line.  Let’s discuss in the comments below.

About beautyinbudgetblog

I am a self proclaimed eyeshadow junkie whose main hobbies include shopping, reading, singing, and mainlining caffeine while hanging out with my friends. I love interesting socks and have amassed quite a collection. The place that I want to visit before I die would be Greece. I like to read all seven Harry Potter books once a year the way some people read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. (Sorry JRRT, but JKR kicks butt in my book.) I love art, and use my creativity in many different ways through painting, crafts, and makeup. I love to cook and try new things, and I especially love to eat. My favorite "date" is to go wine tasting, and do so with my husband once or twice a year. I love musical theater and think the world would be much better off if we all just watched more musicals. I am 100% a cat person and, although I think dogs can be really cute and sweet, they make me sneeze so cats will always rule. I love faeries and magic, mythology, theology, philosophy, and psychology. I regularly do logic puzzles and sometimes crosswords. I adore Bette Midler, Betty White, and Carol Burnett. I am not ashamed to admit that I watch Glee. I would like to start making some of my own clothes because I can't stop myself from buying fabric. I'm sure that there is much more, but I'm suddenly distracted by something shiny.

  1. Ahhh I wish I were more excited about this. I have the original Naked palette and enjoy using it, but I’m not sure I need this one (and I don’t have the Naked 2 or the Naked Basics). I was THRILLED when the Vice 2 came out, so I’m hoping they’ll do more bright shadows eventually! I read a rumor that UD copyrighted something called (I think) “Electric,” so maybe that will be a new line of brights…? Fingers crossed!

    • Ooh, that would be cool! Although, if I’m honest with myself, I don’t really wear brights too often. They look so pretty in the pan that I have to buy them, but I rarely reach for them. I was on the fence about Naked 3, until I saw some swatches. It’s really tempting. I have so many Ulta points saved up that I can basically get the palette so free, so I may just do that.

  2. I don’t own ANY of the “Naked” palettes. I just made Sephora VIB status last week, and went to Sephora yesterday to buy a couple of things using the 20% off VIB discount. You would THINK I would use that opportunity to finally buy a “Naked” palette, but I didn’t. I compared the new Smashbox “Full Exposure” palette to the original “Naked” palette head to head, and the Smashbox palette won. Although many of the shades in both palettes are similar, the fact that half the shades in the Smashbox palette are mattes is what won me over, so I know I will get more use out of it than the “Naked” palette.

    • That’s a good point. UD doesn’t seem to like mattes very much do they? They always puts a lot of shimmer in their shadows. If it helps, 3 out of the 12 shades in the Naked 3 palette are mattes. The Smashbox palette looked great, but I already have the Lorac Pro palette and TheBalm Meet Matte, so I’m set on mattes for now.

      • Actually, I was hoping to compare “Naked” to both Smashbox “Full Exposure” and Lorac’s “Pro” palette, but my Sephora doesn’t carry Lorac in-store! (The Pro palette was sold out on Sephora’s website). No matter – I *really* wanted to compare them all in person anyway. You know how that is – you can look at the palettes at both Sephora and Ulta online, *and* look at swatches posted by various bloggers, then when you finally see the palettes in person they can look quite different – especially if you’re trying to compare the shades of several palettes to each other.

No matter – I’m happy with the Smashbox Full Exposure palette, and it is the first Smashbox product I have purchased (except for Primer Potion).

As much as I love Primer Potion, I recently purchased NYX’s Studio Perfect Primer (clear), and I don’t see any difference between that and the Smashbox Primer Potion. What with the NYX being less than half the price, I’ll be buying it from now on!

        • I totally agree that palettes look a lot different in real life. I’m glad that you are so pleased with the Smashbox palette. I think the only Smashbox product I’ve used is the face primer, which I love. Good tip on the NYX primer. I’ll have to check it out. 🙂
