Ipsy, May 2014

I got my big pink envelope in the mail that can only mean that it’s Ipsy time again.  For those who don’t know, Ipsy is a beauty subscription service.  For $10 a month, you will receive a makeup bag containing 4-5 deluxe beauty samples.  You often receive full size products, and the overall value of each bag will vary from month to month, but it is always well over the $10 subscription fee.  The theme for May is Fresh Picks: “It’s a month of crisp air, vibrant flowers, and fresh Glam Bag products! Getting your beauty to bloom all month long will be as easy as lying in the warm grass and basking in the sunshine.”  Let’s check out the goods.

Ipsy, May 2014

Ipsy, May 2014

The grand total worth of my May Ipsy bag is $27.12 without the lipstick, and $45.12 with it included.  Though not the most high-cost bag ever, I’m overall pleased with my May Ipsy bag.  I’m not the biggest fan of hair products, so the Eva NYC mask may end up going to my sister.  However, I am happy to try everything else.  Many years ago I had a spray toning water and liked it, so I’m excited to try the Avène Thermal Spring Water now that the weather is heating up.  I love eyeshadow and lip balm, so those will definitely get some use.  I wouldn’t say that I am “excited” to try the sunscreen, but I’m sure that I will use it with summer staring me in the face.  I am very glad that I redeemed my points for the bareMinerals lipstick.  (Funny thing, it took five minutes and a set of instruction to figure out how to open it.  BareMinerals packaging is not intuitive.)  I can’t wait to wear it.

If you would like to sign up for your own Ipsy bag, go ahead and click on this referral link.  I’ve been a subscriber for about a year and a half, and I am extremely happy with Ipsy.  I wholeheartedly recommend it.

  1. I think your sister will really like the hair mask. 😉 Curious to see how the formula is on that lipstick. Love the color.
