3-Year Blogiversary Giveaway

3-Year Blog Giveaway

3-Year Blog Giveaway

Three years ago, today, I started BeautyinBudgetBlog.  I can’t believe that it has been three years!  August 12, 2011 (so long ago!) I started this blog on a whim because I thought it would be fun (which it has been) and as an excuse to indulge my ever-increasing makeup obsession.  Despite pretty terrible pictures and not really knowing what I was doing, I found that I really enjoy blogging about beauty and how to work it into a budget.  I love hearing that I help people save money by trying cheaper alternatives to products that they’ve been spending a fortune on.   I am so thankful that you all enjoy my posts and take my opinion seriously.  It still amazes me that anyone is actually paying attention to what I have to say.  I’m thrilled when I hear that someone has found products that they really like as a result of something they read here on my blog.  I really appreciate all of the comments and support that you give me.  In the last three years, I have managed to grow my blog into something that I can be really proud of.  I have almost 600 posts, and well over 400,000 views.  I want to thank those of you who have supported me and watched me grow, and that is what this giveaway is all about.  I want to give back to you because I wouldn’t be doing this blog if it wasn’t for my readers.  So, as a thank you for sticking with me over the last three years, here are three different prize packages that you can win.  I’ve been collecting products for a while in anticipation for this giveaway.

  • You must be a subscriber to this blog (I check).  If you are not yet a subscriber, just enter your email address in the box on the right hand side of the page and hit the “Sign me up!” button.  A confirmation email will be mailed to you to verify that your address is a real one.  Once verified, you will receive email updates (you set the frequency) of any new posts so that you won’t miss a thing here on BiBB.  Or, if you have your own WordPress blog, “follow” me here and sub that way.
  • You must provide a valid email address so that when you win I can get your shipping details.
  • You must be willing to provide me with your mailing address so that I can ship your prize.  US only, please.  If you are under 18, you must have explicit permission from your parents to give out your address.  I don’t want any angry parents, so be honest kids.
  • You must leave a comment on this post in order to be entered.  Tell me something that you have gotten out of reading this blog.  What was your favorite post?  Have you discovered a favorite product because of something that you read here?  What keeps you coming back?  What would you like to see in the future?  Anything in that general vein.

You have two weeks to enter.  I will announce the winner on Wednesday 8/27.  Good luck to you all, and thanks again for 3 great years.

And, don’t forget that you still have time to enter my other current giveaway for a duo of Derma MD products.

About beautyinbudgetblog

I am a self proclaimed eyeshadow junkie whose main hobbies include shopping, reading, singing, and mainlining caffeine while hanging out with my friends. I love interesting socks and have amassed quite a collection. The place that I want to visit before I die would be Greece. I like to read all seven Harry Potter books once a year the way some people read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. (Sorry JRRT, but JKR kicks butt in my book.) I love art, and use my creativity in many different ways through painting, crafts, and makeup. I love to cook and try new things, and I especially love to eat. My favorite "date" is to go wine tasting, and do so with my husband once or twice a year. I love musical theater and think the world would be much better off if we all just watched more musicals. I am 100% a cat person and, although I think dogs can be really cute and sweet, they make me sneeze so cats will always rule. I love faeries and magic, mythology, theology, philosophy, and psychology. I regularly do logic puzzles and sometimes crosswords. I adore Bette Midler, Betty White, and Carol Burnett. I am not ashamed to admit that I watch Glee. I would like to start making some of my own clothes because I can't stop myself from buying fabric. I'm sure that there is much more, but I'm suddenly distracted by something shiny.

  1. Hey! I’m going to start off by saying CONGRATULATIONS!! 3 years is a LONG time and I wish you many, MANY more successful years ahead! I’ve been an avid reader of this blog for almost a year now; I really appreciate the consistency to which you upload your posts.
I found it when I was trying to discover the best ELF products to invest in.. Needless to say, I fell in love! You’re the only beauty blogger I follow (not even kidding!)
As a 20 year old medical student, I can’t justify spending $$ on beauty products, even if it’s my actual PASSION. I love when you post DUPES to expensive, more high end makeup products. I’ve bought make up brushes, foundations and discovered some really great deals because of your blog. These prize packages are PHENOMENAL, especially #3- I love me some Urban Decay! =D

Thank you for providing the motivation and means for me to indulge in beautifying ❤
    Keep up the fantastic work!

  2. I subscribed to so many beauty blogs. They drop down in my email and I never click on them to read. But there is a small handful that when I see them in my email, I click on ASAP. Yours is one of them. I enjoy reading your posts. I got in on the theBalm 50 off sale because of your posting. Thank you by the way. It was my first order with them and I am totally happy with my purchase. I also purchased some brushes and the first Revealed palette after reading one of your posts. And the Urban Decay shattered case. I agree it was pricey but then Ulta had it for $20 bucks one day so I grabbed it. I didn’t think I would like it as much as I do. Thanks for such a great blog.

  3. Oh wow! I have gotten so much out of this blog!! For me, it is all about price and affordability. I am on a very tight budget so I am always looking for good quality, less expensive products. Your blog has really helped me with that. I think my favorite posts are when you post about ELF and Wet&Wild products. Those 2 brands are my favorite. Right now my favorite products are Wet&Wild Color Icon Bronzer and Wet&Wild Intuitive blend shade adjusting foundation. I look forward to the email notifying me of your post daily. Keep them coming!

  4. I get so much out of this blog! For me, it’s all about the reviews – love the fact that I can read great reviews about products that might not work for me without spending my money on them. I’m a huge Wet N Wild fan and love any review about them!

  5. Wow that’s awesome 3 years of BIB, I love it, every morning I check to see what new goodies you have to share with us and it always makes me want to run and purchase for myself. Thank you for the wonderful years of great advice and awesome product reviews. I look forward to many more years of reading and enjoying BIB. Good luck everyone and thank you BIB for yet another awesome contest 🙂

  6. Happy Blogiversary! I started following your blog I believe in January of this year, and I look forward to reading all about the elf products since I’m also a fan of them too. You have a great blog, and as a blogger my self I love connecting with other bloggers and look forward to reading more of your posts. Prize package #3 has so many elf goodies that I’ve always wanted to try so I like that. Congrats on 3 years of blogging may you have many more years of blogging success:)) Ivey

  7. Congratulations on hitting the three-year mark; that’s awesome! I always read your posts because they’re very well thought-out and I really respect your opinions. And I’ve found a few great, low-cost alternatives to more expensive products as a result of reading; most recently, I bought the Coastal Scents brush you reviewed and compared to the Sigma F-80. I’m really loving it – thanks for the recommendation!

As far as the prize packages go, I think I’d be happy with any one of them. So if I win (fingers crossed) – surprise me! 🙂

  8. Happy Blogaversary! I’ll admit that what initially drew me to the blog was the awesome header graphic, love the colors. I come back because I appreciate the blog’s emphasis on lower cost cosmetics and beauty items, as I think they often get overlooked in the beauty blogging world. As for prize preferences, I’d say #2, #1, and then #3. They all look great, however!

  9. Happy Blogaversary! I’m a relatively new reader but I’ve enjoyed my short time here with you. I too am always looking for a way to save a buck or two and I’ve found a few new products to try thanks to you.

  10. Hi there! I only came across your blog a month or so ago, but I really like hearing your opinions about different brands. I used e.l.f. brand years ago, but had drifted away from it for some reason and because of your blog, I am definitely going to try it again! I also think your giveaways are terrific! Happy anniversary, and if I won, it’s really a tough choice, because I love Paula’s Choice and Derma MD. I guess #1, then #2 and #3 for me. Definitely, all three groups have some great products in them that I”d like to try! 🙂

  11. so proud of you congratulations for continuing to be so helpful to everyone, beauty products can be expensive and you have made it easy to get good deals. My favorites are coastel scents and elf, you started me on these and i appreciate it. keep up the good work

  12. Happy anniversary! I’ve enjoyed learning about all the different products out there. And while I’m posting, the new e.l.f. primer that’s supposed to help with pores is horrible! It smells like cedar mixed with petroleum! Don’t buy it.

  13. I love posts about (you guessed it) wet n wild 🙂 if I remember right I think I found your blog because I was looking for reviews on their new balm stains, so I’ve been reading your blog since they came out. I also appreciate your honesty with reviews and I appreciate sale notifications 🙂
This giveaway is very generous of you, congratulations on three years of blogging! I have to say, if I won I’d prefer prize #3, then #2, then #1.
Oh and on the realm of cheap cosmetics I enjoy reviews of super cheap stuff (like elf and la colors ect) because even though they’re cheap money’s still wasted if there no good…but on the flipside they could be gems! And I just love cheap thrills 😉

  14. Yay and congrats on three years!! If not for you, I never would have sought out the (much too tiny) Jordana section at my local Walgreen’s. Also, I’ve gotten into e.l.f. because of your reviews. Which reminds me, I keep forgetting to get that C brush, and it’s THE one I’ve been wanting for a while. I also got into Ipsy because of your reviews. Thank you for doing what you do! 🙂

  15. happy blogiversary!! i admit that i just started reading your blog only a few months ago. but i’m really loving it! i can’t wait for when i have some free time (har har) so i can dive into your archives. in the most recent posts, i learned a lot about the brand derma MD and i have definitely put it on my list of brands-to-try. thanks for all the useful information!!

  16. Congrats on 3 years! That’s huge!
I love reading about the different companies that you love, and finding new ones because of you. It’s awesome when you give discount codes, too!

  18. I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since you started this blog!!! Time really flies. One of the things I live about this blog is that I can carry it with me on my phone, and when I see something in the store I can be like…”what did T think about this stuff” and check it out before I buy. 🙂 Incidentally did you see the new Sally Hanson ‘no light’ gel nail polish? I would LOVE to see a review of those! My choice for the prizes would be option 2, but my real prize will be your face back in Cali!

  19. Congrats on 3 years! I’ve been a long-time reader although I have only just now subscribed (first blog ever) because I kind of like the feeling of clicking on the site and seeing for myself if there a new post.
The thing I like best about your blog is that it is straightforward and budget-friendly. There’s no hideously expensive only department store brands, you get to the point of the review without a bunch of frills and cutesy things leading up to it, you’re honest about your feelings in a pragmatic way, and your swatches are realistic. I’ve really gotten into NYX because of a few of your recommendations.
    My preferences would be 2, 3, 1
    Keep posting! =)

  20. Congrats on 3 years!!! These are some impressive giveaway packages. 🙂 I’d be happy with any of them, but I guess I’d rank them 2, 3, 1, mostly because I’d really like to try the Derma MD cleanser. 🙂 I love your reviews, mini-reviews, spotted at the drugstore, tutorial, and favorites posts. I guess that means I love all your posts (it’s true). Cheers —

  22. I find it exciting when I receive your emails. You are doing us gals a great service. Wish you much success. Thank you for taking your time to do what you do 🙂

  23. Congrats! I enjoy your reviews because I feel like you’re honest–too many bloggers seem to rave indiscriminately about everything that crosses their path.

  25. I think the lip and nail products are my favorite post. If it was not for your blog I probably would have not gotten back into enjoying makeup like I did when I was younger. Your blog is very informative, honest and entertaining. That’s is definitely something that will bring people back. My 3 favorite products I picked up from here are Revlon Lip Crayons and Lip Butters and using Seche Vite as a good top coat.

  27. Being in my mid-twenties and just starting out in my career, while going to school means I don’t always have tones of spare cash to spend on makeup, despite my wishes to do nothing but play with makeup. I love that you offer great and honest reviews so that I don’t waste my money on a product that just won;t work for me. Congrats on making it to 3 years, thats such an accomplishment.

If I were to win (which would be amazing!) I would love either the 3rd or 2nd prize packages.
