It’s Ipsy bag time again, and this month I am really pleased. I am pretty happy with the products that I received. I have to admit that I was a little nervous when I heard that November’s motto was “Life is short. Wear Glitter!” As it turns out, I didn’t need to worry about it. The products had surprisingly little glitter or shimmer despite the blinged out ads like this one (taken directly from Ipsy’s facebook page) of a Unicorn Pooping Rainbows.
At least, that’s what it looks like to me. 😉 For those who don’t know, Ipsy is a beauty subscription service. For $10 a month (+ tax for certain states), you will receive a makeup bag containing 4-5 deluxe beauty samples. You often receive full size products, and the overall value of each bag will vary from month to month, but it is always well over the $10 subscription fee. November’s theme is Girl Meets Glitter- “Why wait for festive fetes and fancy galas to take things up a sparkle or two? Just add glitter, or a generous pinch of shimmer and shine, to elevate your everyday routine and keep you looking and feeling brilliant. That’s why we packed this month’s Glam Bag with everything you need to leave a little sparkle wherever YOU go. Get ready for your daily grind to “glitterly” dazzle and daze this November!” So let’s get into the products.

Apply lightly with fingertip to create a natural finish. Layer for added color. Create a more intense look by layering with a powder eyeshadow.” This is a full sized product, worth $14 at beabombshellcosmetics.com.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye: “This best-selling, cult-favorite and award-winning concealer delivers highly pigmented, long-lasting coverage that won’t crease or crack. Infused with anti-aging technology, vitamins and high-performance pigments, this multipurpose concealer improves the appearance of wrinkles and effectively conceals the appearance of skin imperfections including dark circles, bags, redness, hyperpigmentation, broken capillaries, age spots and discoloration. Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray: “Get extra volume, shine, and hold with this dual purpose hairspray; nourishing and styling in one! This argan oil, keratin and grape seed oil infused hairspray gives you strong and flexible hold plus deep nourishment, strengthening and conditioning as you style. The non-water based, fast drying formula freeze-frames your volume and hold without stickiness or flaking and its flexible finish creates workable styles for easy re-styling without crunch or heavy build-up. It creates a luminous finish and shields against humidity for longer lasting styles. Sun Protectors keep the sun and other elements from damaging your full-bodied mane. What more could you want from a hairspray?” Ipsy uses Walgreens as their distributor for this one. Full size is 9 fl oz, worth $8.29 at walgreens.com. Sample size is 1.5 fl oz, worth $1.38.
TEMPTU S/B Highlighter in Pink Pearl: “Put your Best Face Forward with S/B Highlighter! A cult favorite of makeup artists around the globe, TEMPTU S/B Highlighter is the perfect product that goes on sheer for an overall illuminating and contouring effect. Light-reflecting and transfer resistant, S/B Highlighter glides on effortlessly for a brilliant complexion boost that contours to highlight your best features.” Full size is 30 ml, worth $27.50 at temptu.com. Sample size is 3 ml, worth $2.75.
Here is a swatch of the color cosmetics. I know if I were you, I’d be very curious how that super dark J. Cat Lip Paint swatched. From Left to Right: Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base in Submissive, J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in Red Potion, and a thick layer for photo’s sake of TEMPTU S/B Highlighter in Pink Pearl. I swatched everything with my finger. The Lip paint just needed a tiny drop to make this swatch, so a little goes a very long way.
The grand total worth of my November Ipsy bag is $32.55. Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I am happy with my November bag. I am thrilled to try the IT Cosmetics Bye-Bye Under Eye. I’ve heard so many great things about it, but haven’t gotten a chance to try it out myself. I am also really excited to try the J. Cat Wonder Lip Paint. They just landed at Ulta and Harmons, and I have been very curious about how they compare to the OCC Lip Tars. The Be a Bombshell Eye Base looks very similar to Maybelline Color Tattoos, so I am very curious about comparing those two products. And it looks like such a beautiful color. I wouldn’t say that I am excited about the Marc Anthony hair spray, but it will get used, especially since it is a travel sized can. That way I don’t have to lug around my gigantic can of Tresemmé spray when I move. The only product that has me scratching my head in confusion is the Temptu highlighter. Temptu is a brand that (I believe exclusively) sells air brush makeup products. Though you can apparently use the highlighter without an airbrush machine, it seems like an odd product to include in the bag. It’s a beautiful color, and I will try to use it, but I am a little confused. I’ve read the comments on Ipsy, and I know that some people are thrilled to get this product. Personally, (having not actually tried it yet) I would have liked a different item in my bag. But maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. I love the rest of my items, though, so I count November’s Ipsy bag as a win.

What did you think of your Ipsy bag for November? Did you love it, hate it, or did you fall somewhere in between? Let me know in the comments below. I can’t wait to see what is in next month’s Holiday bag. This one felt like a Holiday bag to me, so I really don’t know what to expect next month. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
