Stila Beauty in Bloom Convertible Color Trio

Today I have a fun product to show you that I picked up when Ulta offered its 20% off coupon a few weeks ago.  This is the Stila Beauty in Bloom Convertible Color Trio.  Stila has two Convertible Color sets out for Spring 2015 inspired by flowers.  First is this Beauty in Bloom set that I have to show you today, and also they released a Blooming Bright set which, as the name implies, contains bright spring shades.  I haven’t tried Stila’s Convertible Color for lips and cheeks before now, but I could not resist the Beauty in Bloom set.  Here is the product description from Ulta’s website: “Treat yourself to a bouquet of beauty with a trio of Stila’s signature Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Creams. Long-loved by beauty editors and makeup artists, they blend like a dream, leaving lips and cheeks with a pretty pop of color. This set includes a trio of  floral-inspired hues.”

The Stila Beauty in Bloom Convertible Color Trio comes with three mini Convertible Color compacts.  Each one contains a mirror, making them perfect for travel and re-application throughout the day.  Stila Convertible Color is a cult favorite, so many of you are probably familiar with the product.  But for those of you who, like me, are new to Convertible Color let me give you a brief run down of the formula.  Here is the blurb from Ulta: “Stila’s ingenious lipstick and blush-in-one proves to be irresistible. This versatile favorite brightens cheeks and lips with creamy, translucent color. Tap onto cheeks and press onto lips. The sheer tint adds an inherent glow to the cheeks while lips bloom with fresh, radiant color. Two-in-one compact holds the key to easy, monochromatic makeup. A must-have in every Stila girl’s makeup bag.”  I love how creamy the Convertible Colors are.  You can apply them with your fingers, or a brush.  I prefer my e.l.f. Small Stipple Brush, personally.  They apply smoothly and evenly on my cheeks, are not greasy at all, and look beautiful.  On the lips, they have great pigmentation.  The formula is creamy, but I wouldn’t call it moisturizing.  If you have dry lips like I do, then you will need to use a moisturizing balm in conjunction with the Convertible Colors.  I have no issues with fading, but those with oily skin may want to set the blush with powder, or else be prepared to re-apply if needed on long days out.  Now, let’s look at the shades.

Stila Beauty in Bloom Convertible Color in Camellia

The first Convertible Color in the Beauty in Bloom Trio is Camellia.  Camellia is available full size in Stila’s Convertible Color line.  It is a warm toned, medium peachy nude.  This compliments my skin tone so well, and I love it.

Next up is Peony, which is also available in the regular Convertible Color line.  Peony is a cool pinky-rose with brown undertones.  I am not as big of a fan of it on my lips, but it looks great on my cheeks.  This is a perfect everyday shade for those with fair and light skin.

Stila Beauty in Bloom Convertible Color in Tulip

The final shade in the trio is Tulip, and this one is not available for individual purchase in Stila’s Convertible Color line.  Tulip gives me a gorgeous deep berry stain on the lips, but sheers out for a healthy flush on the cheeks.  This would be a lovely shade for those with darker skin tones.

Here is a swatch of all three shades next to each other.  From left to right: Camellia, Peony, and Tulip.  Because I have never used Stila Convertible Color, I thought the Stila Beauty in Bloom Convertible Color Trio was a great deal.  Convertible Color usually retails at $25 for .15 oz of product.  The minis are .07 oz each, a total of .21 oz for only $20.  More product for less money?  Sure, I’ll take that!  I am contemplating going back to Ulta for the Blooming Bright set.  That one contains Lillium and Petunia from the regular Convertible Color line and Hibiscus (coral red) as the exclusive shade.  I think these trios are an excellent deal if you don’t already own several of Stila Convertible Colors already.  Both trios were released for Spring, and are most likely limited edition, so keep that in mind.
