It is finally Ipsy time! My goodness, it took forever for my Ipsy bag to arrive this month! Between holiday shipping madness and stormy weather, I wasn’t sure if my bag was ever going to get here. But, it did finally arrive. For those who are new to the blog and don’t know, Ipsy is a beauty subscription service. For $10 a month (plus tax in some states), you will receive a makeup bag containing 4-5 deluxe beauty samples. You often receive full size products, and the overall value of each bag will vary from month to month, but it is always well over the $10 subscription fee. The theme for December is “With love from Ipsy”. Awww, isn’t that sweet? The bag this month is red vinyl with a quilted stitching pattern. The zipper tab is a super cute pair of lips. Now, on to the products.
ACURE Cell Stimulating Face Mask: “Work over your cells for a true synergy of cell revitalization with argan stem cell + sweet iris stem cell and chlorella growth factor to regenerate, firm and soften. Vegan, Gluten and Cruelty free.” Full size is $12.99 for 1.75 fl oz at acureorganics.com. Sample size is 1 fl oz, worth $7.42.
Klorane Floral Water Make-up Remover with Soothing Cornflower: “This gentle floral micellar water, enriched with soothing and decongesting cornflower water, delicately and thoroughly removes all traces of make-up from face, eyes and lips. It’s alcohol free, paraben free and fragrance free – making it ideal for even the most sensitive eyes and skin.” Full size is $23 for 13.5 fl oz at kloraneusa.com. Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Shadow Primer: “This silky blend dries transparent and preps your lids for a smooth and even application. Your favorite eye shadows will intensely come to life. But most importantly, it protects your eye makeup all day, so you can get back to the important things in life (cat videos, selfies, and your roommate’s last piece of chocolate). Pacifica Power Of Love Natural Lipstick in Nudie Red: “Amazingly creamy, highly-pigmented, and naturally moisturizing – this lipstick is packed with all the vitamins and antioxidants your lips crave. See the classic shade revolutionized by intense color and lasting shine with Formula X’s No Compromise formula. Three-free formula.” Full size is $10.50 for .4 oz at sephora.com. Sample size is .13 oz, worth $3.25.
My Ipsy bag came with one more item this month. This is the shade play artistic eye color palette in Casablanca Neutrals from em cosmetics. It is nowhere on the Ipsy website that I could find, but there was a card included. It said: “I hope that you are enjoying the Holiday season with family and friends! I want to personally reach out and thank you for being a part of the Ipsy family for over three years now. Here’s a fun fact. Did you know that you were one of the first to subscribe to the Glam Bag? I consider you one of he founding members of Ipsy- You shared this dream, and you jumped in with your whole heart. I can’t thank you enough for taking a leap of faith and joining me on this journey of beauty discovery. With love, Michelle Phan.” I went to the em cosmetics website, and this palette is $28. That’s a nice thank you gift!
The grand total for my December Ipsy bag is $32.03, plus the $28 shadow palette. Not bad for a $10 subscription fee. I am happy with this month’s selection. I do wish that the Pacifica lipstick came in a darker color because I am not the biggest fan of nudes, but otherwise I can see myself getting a lot of use out of the products that were sent to me. I love experimenting with masks, and I’ve been wanting to try a micellar water, so I am excited about both of those items. Who can’t use a good eye primer, and I still haven’t tried Sephora’s Formula X polish. It’s a good bag for me. I am really happy with the surprise thank you gift from em cosmetics. I am so pleased that they chose to recognize people who have been subscribed for many years. It is such a nice touch.
