April 2016 Monthly Favorites

April 2016 Monthly Favorites

We are already into the first week of May, and that means that it’s time for a Favorites post.  How can it possibly be May already!  This year is flying by.  Today I have my April Favorites and Fails.  For anyone new to the blog, Monthly Favorites are those products that particularly stood out to me, and ones that I reached for over and over throughout the month.  Fails are products that simply did not work out and I do not recommend, because it is just as important to know what products to avoid as it is to know which ones to get.  I’ve been preforming with my band at the Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire all month long.  We have a stage show, so my makeup has been very specific to go with the guidelines that our costume designer has set forth.  I’ve been playing with some new items, and also busted out a few old favorites that I hadn’t used in a while.  Let’s take a look at what I’ve been reaching for all month long.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

My first Favorite that I want to talk about is the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask.  This stuff is amazing!  I had a sample from Sephora around the Holidays that introduced me to the product.  I loved it so much, that I featured it in my December Favorites post.  I have chronically dry lips, and this lip treatment makes a huge difference.  I am going to say right off the bat that this formula is not going to be for everyone.  It is thick and waxy when you apply it, but once it warms up on the lips it melts into the skin.  This isn’t a lip balm that you throw in your pocket.  It is definitely an overnight lip treatment mask.  The main ingredients are lanolin, agave nectar, and jojoba oil.  A little does a long way, and even though the tube is only half an ounce, I am sure that it is going to last me a year.  I don’t love the $26 price tag, but I think that for my lips it is worth the splurge because it is wonderful.  (Although, I lucked out because I had a gift card to Sephora, so thanks Sarah, I put it to good use. 🙂 )

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Bumble

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Bumble

Speaking of lips, a surprising Favorite for the month was the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Bumble.  I really did not expect to love this product so much.  I was worried that the ultra matte formula would be too drying and uncomfortable on my lips, but it really isn’t.  With long hours that I’ve been spending out at Faire, I wanted a lip color that would stay all day through singing and drinking a lot of water.  I also can’t stand it when my lip color transfers to cups or straws.  Bumble does not budge, and it is exactly what I was looking for.  As long as I don’t eat anything greasy or oily, then I am golden.  (Oil breaks most long-lasting lip colors down.)  These lip colors go on as a liquid lip color and definitely dry down completely matte.  You can see a reflection is this photo where the swatch was thicker and hadn’t quite dried yet, but the rest of the swatch is matte.  ColourPop describes Bumble as a “dusty warm terracotta” shade.  It is beautiful, and has been the perfect lip product for me this past month.

NYX Q10 Renew Skin Elixir

NYX Q10 Renew Skin Elixir

I’ve been playing with some different primers lately, and I rediscovered my NYX Q10 Renew Skin Elixir.  I forgot how much I liked this primer.  It has a creamy, lightweight formula with a fresh, unassuming scent.  It infuses the skin with CoEnzyme Q10 that brightens and softens for a flawless foundation application.  NYX Q10 Renew Skin Elixir is especially lovely for those with slightly dry or mature skin.  The added moisture boost will leave your skin soft and supple, but not so much so that it mucks up your foundation.  CoQ10 boosts collagen and elastin production, which wains once you leave your twenties behind.  The Renew Skin Elixir will help to temporarily gain a smooth, bright, and youthful appearance.  I think that NYX Q10 Renew Skin Elixir is targeted at those with normal to slightly dry skin or mature skin.  The Elixir does a great job at smoothing out flakes and rough patches so foundation doesn’t get stuck on them.  The formula absorbs quickly and does not leave skin tacky or sticky.  It feels lovely and my foundation lasts all day.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Another surprising Favorite for me is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.  For years I have said that I prefer flat-top kabuki brushes to apply my foundation.  I’ve tried beauty sponges, including this sponge, and never understood the draw.  My skin went through a period where it was rebelling, and I’ve had some texture issues.  I just wasn’t liking the way my foundation was laying on my skin, so in desperation, I tried the Real Techniques sponge again.  You guys, seriously, I don’t even know what to say.  It’s like someone flipped a switch in my brain and I suddenly get it now.  I have seen the light and I am freaking loving this silly little sponge.  I’ve been using the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation for it’s staying power, and the sponge applies it beautifully.  The foundation lays really well when I use the sponge, even over texture issues.  I am not saying that I will be giving up my flat-top kabuki brushes forever, but beauty sponges in general, and this Real Techniques sponge in particular, will definitely be a part of my regular rotation from now on.

Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs. Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette

Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs. Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette

A new item that has become a fast Favorite is the Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs. Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette.  I promise to do a full review with swatches soon.  In the mean time though, let me just say that you all need this palette.  According to Ulta: “New-Trals are the new Neutrals! Upgrade your new natural eye looks with the new generation of natural shades in Makeup Revolution’s New-Trals vs. Neutrals.”  I bought this palette because the shades looked similar enough to the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette to allow me to resist temptation.  The shadows are gorgeous and they apply smoothly.  I don’t have issues with flaking or fading, and I think that the Makeup Revolution formula is really nice.  The formula reminds me of the Wet N Wild 8-pan palette shadows.  Bonus, this palette is only $10 and you can use the Ulta $3.50 off of $10 coupon, so you can get it for $6.50.  Seriously, put this palette on your list.

The Body Shop Brazil Nut Shower Cream

The Body Shop Brazil Nut Shower Cream

My final Favorite for April is The Body Shop Brazil Nut Shower Cream.  It’s an odd scent for this time of year, I know, but it smells so good that I can’t resist it.  I love the Shower Cream formula.  It is so moisturizing.  The formula is silky and smooth, and so luxurious on the skin.  I love the Brazil Nut scent, though it’s hard to describe.  It’s like caramel, white chocolate, or vanilla, but… not.  It’s sweet and nutty and delicious.  I’ve really been loving it.  (So, I got this bottle a while ago and didn’t realize until today that The Body Shop has discontinued the scent.  You can still get it online, but not from The Body Shop.  Sorry about that.)

That does it for my Favorites, now onto my Fails.

LORAC Color Correcting (CC) Cream

LORAC Color Correcting (CC) Cream

I only have one Fail for April, but it was such a disaster that one was definitely enough.  I’m talking about the LORAC Color Correcting (CC) Cream.  I got the CC Cream as an Ulta 21 days of beauty special, so it was only $15 instead of the full $30 that it normally retails for.  This product is straight up horrible.  The CC Cream is supposed to “instantly neutralize redness and imperfections with a natural-looking, semi-matte finish. This 6-in-1 specially-tinted makeup neutralizes, primes, moisturizes, brightens, soothes and helps your skin look healthy and youthful. CC Cream is oil, silicone, paraben and fragrance free and is suitable for all skin types.”  What the CC Cream really does is apply streaky, sinks into pores, and emphasizes every flaw.  I got the “Light” shade, and it is very light with highly yellow undertones.  I tried it on two separate occasions, applied once with a brush and once with the RT sponge I mentioned above, and both times were so disastrous that I had to completely remove my makeup and start over from scratch.  Am I missing something?  Do any of you have this CC Cream and like it?  Please tell me your experience and let me know if you have any tips because it didn’t work for me at all.  It’s like my skin was rejecting the formula.  I really don’t know what LORAC was thinking.

That’s it for my Favorites and Fails for April 2016.  I hope that you saw something that you liked.  I still can’t believe that it is already May.  I’ve been super busy and will continue that way for at least another month or so.  Things should ease up over the summer.  I don’t know if I mentioned it here on the blog, but I injured my knee pretty seriously over the Holidays, and I am still healing.  I am doing much better now, but I am still using a crutch or a cane and keeping my knee in a brace.  My difficulty getting around makes me so much more tired and makes it a lot harder to get things done.  I’m sure that you’ve noticed that my posts have been pretty few and far between lately.  I’ve just been having a hard time over the last several months and I’ve had to let go of the blog a bit.  That’s the way it goes sometimes.  Anyway, what were some of your favorite products for April?  Let me know in the comments below.

14 Best of 2014

Standard
Best of 2014

Best of 2014

It is time for my wrap up of the products that I liked best in 2014.  These are products that didn’t necessarily come out in 2014, but that I loved and used in 2014.  It’s basically my most favorite of all my favorite products for the year.  If you have been paying attention over the last year, all of these products should be familiar to you.  I have mentioned all of them in at least one “Favorites” post, though I do try not to be too repetitive in those posts as much as possible.  These are definitely the products that I have been reaching for throughout the year, so let me get started.

Derma MD Copper CoQ10 Moisturizer

Derma MD Copper CoQ10 Moisturizer

First up, let’s talk skincare.  In 2014 I discovered Derma MD when they sent me several products for review.  The product that I have loved most from the brand is the Derma MD Copper CoQ10 Moisturizer.  This is my third bottle, and I am sure that I will continue to use the Copper CoQ10 for a while.  It has helped reduce my redness so much, which is my number one skin concern.  I love the moisturizer because it is not greasy or oily in the slightest, but delivers a ton of hydration that lasts for hours.  It is extremely lightweight and absorbs into the skin so easily that you don’t even notice it.  I think that it would be appropriate for all skin types, oily or dry.  It is a great product, and I recommend it to anyone.  Derma MD is often featured on sites like Hautelook and Rue La La to cut the cost by a significant amount.  I also have a 50% off promo code at dermamdskincare.com for my readers.  Enter code beautybudget at check out to receive the discount.

The Body Shop Honemania

The Body Shop Honeymania

Moving away from the face to the body is the Honeymania scent from The Body Shop.  I love this scent so much.  I have body butter, lip butter, and shower gel in Honeymania.  It smells like honey and wild flowers, and is just a gorgeous fresh scent.  I actually prefer the formula of the body butter more from The Body Shop than from Bath & Body Works.  It is less greasy and absorbs into the skin better.  Honestly though, I almost don’t care what product it is as long as it is in the Honeymania scent.  😉

Coastal Scents Bionic Flat Top Buffer

Coastal Scents Bionic Flat Top Buffer

Moving on to tools, the Coastal Scents Bionic Flat Top Buffer is a dead-on dupe for the Sigma F80, but for a fraction of the cost.  This is my favorite style of brush for blending in foundation.  I have a review for all of the details about how the brush performs.  The bristles are soft and densely packed, making it a fantastic foundation brush because it feels comfortable on the skin and blends everything out easily and evenly.  The handle is shorter than most, so the brush fits much easier into makeup bags than similar brushes.  I have washed it countless times, and have had no issues with shedding or bleeding.  The Bionic Flat Top Buffer is very well made and a high quality brush.  If you are considering getting the F80 you should consider this one first.

Sigma E-36 Blending Brush

Sigma E36 Blending Brush

One brush from Sigma that is 100% worth the hype and the money is the Sigma E36 Blending Brush.  This brush is essential for me.  I have hooded lids that aren’t too big, and this brush fits in the cease perfectly.  I can lay down dark crease shades without them getting out of control and taking over my look.  The E36 is very thin and has long, slightly firm bristles.  The small fluffy brush is just perfect for precision blending and I use it all the time.  It may be too small for those with really large eyes, but it’s so perfect for me.

Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation & Revlon Nearly Naked Powder

Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation & Revlon Nearly Naked Powder

When it comes to face makeup, my foundation and powder are repeat favorites that I had from last year.  I am combining them and only counting them as one because it is the pair of products used together that is my true favorite.  I am talking about the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation and the Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder, both of which have me scraping the bottom to get the last bit.  The Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous is really great and unique because it works equally well for those with oily or dry skin.  Very few products truly are for all skin types, but this foundation really is.  CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous is mattifying, without drying out your skin.  It has solid medium coverage, but is still lightweight and not cakey.  The best part is that it lasts all day long, even in the worst heat and humidity.  I definitely think that it is one of the best drugstore options for foundation.  Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder is such a good product that if you haven’t tried it yet, you absolutely must.  I love how light it is, and the soft focus effect it gives to my skin is lovely.  It blurs the imperfections and makes me look younger.  Revlon Nearly Naked is (for me) the absolute best powder in the drugstore and definitely one that I will repurchase.  It’s tough for me to use up products all the way because I have so much makeup to choose from.  It says a lot that both of these products are basically empty.  I highly recommend them both.

Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Poetic

Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Poetic

Hopefully you aren’t sick of me talking about the Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Poetic, because it was definitely a major favorite for me this past year.  Poetic is a warm, nude peach with a satin finish that looks good for any occasion and on many different skin tones.  The Forever Blush formula is so great in general.  The blushes apply smoothly and evenly, and they have great pigmentation and staying power. You can read my full review to see swatches and get more details on the Forever Blushes.  Poetic is my favorite, though, because it is such a universally flattering shade.  I strongly recommend that you check it out.

Maybelline Master Hi-Light blush in Mauve

Maybelline Master Hi-Light blush in Mauve

I haven’t mentioned the Maybelline Master Hi-Light blush in Mauve since the Spring, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been using it.  It is such a beautiful shade, and it wears really well.  Mauve has definitely become one of my favorite blushes, especially when I want to skip highlighter and use a blush with some shimmer.  It is sort of a plum toned rose-gold shade that is different than any other shade I have in my collection.  The shimmer particles are finely milled and do not look chunky or glittery.  It gives me a lovely sheen and looks great.  A little goes a really long way, so I’ll have this blush for a long time.  I really love it.

Lorac Pro Palette 2

Lorac Pro Palette 2

There is no way that I can talk about my favorite products of 2014 without mentioning the Lorac Pro Palette 2.  It is probably my favorite palette of all of the palettes that I own, which says a lot because I have so many of them.  For me, the Lorac Pro 2 has such a perfect mix of shades that I can easily come up with dozens of looks that are beautiful and distinct without having to think too much about it.  I love that, unlike the Naked palettes, there are plenty of matte shades as well as the shimmers for looks that have more complexity and that wear better on aging eyes.  The neutral everyday shades are appropriate for any situation, and the few colorful shades add some whimsy and set the Lorac Pro 2 apart from most other neutral palettes.  The mix of warm and cool tones makes the palette universally flattering and a good choice for anyone.  All the shades have great pigmentation and blend very well with each other without getting muddy.  I personally don’t need primer when I use LORAC shadows to get crease-free wear that lasts all day.  I can not recommend this palette enough.  Feel free to read my full review of the Lorac Pro 2 with swatches for more information on the palette.

bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow

bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow

In 2014 I discovered bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow and have been so impressed.  I don’t know why it took me so long to try bareMinerals, but I have really been enjoying the brand.  I first tried a mini bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in “The Epiphany” that I got in a kit over the Holidays last year.  I could not get enough of the creamy, silky formula.  I reach for that duo all the time.  Next, I purchased the bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 4.0 in “The Soundrack” and that same buttery texture had me hooked.  The shadows feel so luxe and expensive on the skin- a real high quality experience.  My most recent bareMinerals purchase is the READY Eyeshadow 4.0 in “The Happy Place” that was just delivered a week or so ago.  It is absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t wait to play some more with it.  BareMinerals READY Eyeshadows are a little pricey, but they are worth it in my opinion.

e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic

e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic

How many times have I talked about e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic this last year?  I have enjoyed the Smudge Pots in general, but Cruisin Chic is the number one “must-have” of the bunch.  The gel formula doesn’t crease, but also doesn’t dry out my lids.  It is lightweight and hardly noticeable.  It lasts all day long without fading.  And the best part is that the e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic is only $3 (e.l.f. recently raised their prices).  Be sure to check out my review of the Smudge Pots.  Cruisin Chic is gorgeous brown-based metallic taupe.  It is a great everyday option that looks so multidimensional that I can get away with wearing it all by itself, but it still looks like I put way more effort into the look.  It couldn’t be easier to apply with either a brush or your fingers.  I can’t think of a single reason why you shouldn’t get it.  Trust me, you need this in your life.

Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment

Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment

Another products that should be no surprise to find in my Best of 2014 roundup are the Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatments.  Though I had tried them before this last year, I became obsessed with them in 2014.  I love the way that they make my lips feel.  The Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatments are so hydrating and have a beautiful sheer wash of color that looks so natural and pretty.  My two favorite shades out of the line are Sugar Rose and Sugar Berry.  Sugar Rose is very sheer, but still gives my lips some life.  The look is almost like my lips have a fresh kiss blush that is quite attractive.  Sugar Berry is a plum-toned berry shade that has still has decent pigmentation, despite being a sheer balm.  It is what I wear when I want color on my lips, but still want my lips to look natural.  I have really fallen for the Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment line.  They are definitely a splurge, but I really think that they are worth a go.

Nivea Kiss of... Lip Care

Nivea Kiss of… Lip Care

My other lip love of 2014 is much more affordable, but just as wonderful.  I am addicted to the Nivea Kiss of Milk and Honey and Nivea Kiss of Olive Oil & Lemon lip balms.  I am a lip balm junkie, and I continue to try new lip balms when I get them in Ipsy bags or something like that, but I keep coming back to Nivea.  These balms are so extremely hydrating.  I have really dry lips, and am constantly re-applying my lip products.  The Nivea balms last longer than most, and the formula is lightweight and silky without being greasy or waxy.  They have no noticeable taste, and the pleasant scent is extremely subtle and only lasts during application.  They are fantastic, and I can’t live without them.

Born Pretty Store Water Decals

Born Pretty Store Water Decals

One of my favorite new discoveries from 2014 are the Water Decals that I’ve been getting from the Born Pretty Store.  I had never heard of water decals before Born Pretty contacted me.  There was a steep learning curve for figuring out how to use water decals, and the first two attempts were somewhat painstaking.  By my third try, however, I had my technique down and they were easy as pie.  I absolutely love how professional water decals make my nails look.  I don’t go to the salon to get manicures, and I have extremely limited talent when it comes to nail art.  Let’s be honest, I can barely paint my nails without making a mess.  But the water decals make my clumsy efforts look expertly executed.  They are basically a temporary tattoo for nails, and (once you get the hang of it) really easy to use.  I have gotten all of my water decals from the Born Pretty Store, so you can either type “water decals” in the search box or just click the Born Pretty category on the right hand side of the page for a closer look at the manicures that I have come up with using water decals.  They are really fun and my new favorite way to do nail art.

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia fragrance

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia fragrance

Finally, my favorite fragrance has been Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia.  Oh my god, you guys, it smells so good!   Acqua di Gioia is a fresh, clean aquatic scent, with light citrus and floral notes.  It instantly transports me to a villa in the Mediterranean, and I can’t get enough of it.  The image in my head when I smell Acqua di Gioia is of clean blue water and fluffy white towels.  The name means “water of joy” and I can’t think of a better and more accurate name for the scent.  My husband also loves it and always compliments me when I wear it.  In fact, he liked it so much he picked up the men’s version for himself.  You have to smell Acqua di Gioia, if you haven’t already.  It is truly lovely.

And that completes my Best of 2014 post.  These posts are hard to do because I have used so many great products over the year.  I do think that I was able to round up the best of the best, so to speak.  These are the products that have gotten the most love over the year and that I would recommend the most to you.  I hope that you saw something that you like.  Let me know what your favorite products have been throughout 2014.  Are there items that I really need to try?  Tell me about them in the comments below.

The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set Review

Standard
The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set

The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set

Today I have The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set for review.  The Body Shop often has pretty good Black Friday sales, so I wanted to get this review up before then in case you wanted to take advantage.  I first mentioned The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set in my The Body Shop Holiday 2014 post.  I have always wanted to try the Lip butters from The Body Shop, so I couldn’t resist this set.  I am a lip balm junkie, and a fan of The Body Shop body butters, so I figured that it was a safe bet.  I really enjoy several of these scents, and the adorable packaging finally won me over.

The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set

The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set

Here is what The Body Shop has to say: “Get ready for mistletoe mischief with this cute candy-cane shaped gift. Sweeten up your kisses with five luscious Lip Butters in some of our favorite fruity, nutty and gourmand flavors.”  This set includes Strawberry, Honeymania, Coconut, Shea, and Mango lip butters.  The Body Shop Lip Butters are $6 each, so you save $10 on buying these six in a set instead of buying them individually.  Each lip butter is individually wrapped in a safety seal, so the set can easily be broken up.

The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm

The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm

I was very excited to see that Honeymania was included in this set.  If you look at the packaging, the Honeymania is labeled as a lip balm.  It is sold under the heading of lip butter on The Body Shop’s website, but the consistency is a little different that the other four.  Honeymania lip balm is a little less creamy than the lip butters.  It has a wonderful honeysuckle scent that has become one of my favorites from The Body Shop.  It does not have a noticeable taste in my opinion.  It is moisturizing and makes my lips feel amazing, but it does not last quite as long as the other four.  They are subtle, but there are definitely differences in the lip balm formula than the lip butters.  Still, I am enjoying the Honeymania lip balm.

The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter

The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter

The remaining four lip butters have a very creamy, buttery formula.  You do have to break through a thin top layer that is slightly dryer, but under that is the true butter formula.  They melt on the skin instantly and feel silky and lovely.  The butters have strong scents and mild flavors to coordinate with their names.  Just like the lotions and shower gels from The Body Shop, the scents are pure and not horribly artificial.  They feel great on the lips and are quite moisturizing.  The one thing is that I wish the feeling lasted a little longer.  If you have very dry lips in the winter, you may need to re-apply frequently.  If your lips are less dry, or you live in a warmer climate, these may be perfect for you.  These lip butters would be perfect under a different lip color because they are not greasy and will not interfere with the staying power of your lip product.

I am glad that I got The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set.  The Body Shop lip butters will probably not replace my favorite Nivea “Kiss of…” Soothing Lip Care, but I am enjoying them.  I think The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set would make a great gift for someone, or would work well broken up for stocking stuffers.  It’s a great way to experience several scents from The Body Shop.  And can we just pause for a moment to marvel at how freaking adorable that candy cane is?  I am such a sucker for Holiday packaging.  🙂  You can find The Body Shop Candy Kisses Holiday Set at Ulta, The Body Shop stores, and thebodyshop-usa.com.  This Holiday season, they are teaming up with War Child, the global charity for children affected by war, to grant children the wish of education.  If you order directly from The Body Shop, they will make a small contribution to War Child that funds a class for a child.  If you are as big of a lip balm junkie as I am, you definitely want to check out the Candy Kisses Holiday Set from The Body Shop.

The Body Shop Holiday 2014

The Body Shop Holiday 2014

The Body Shop Holiday 2014

I was browsing The Body Shop’s Holiday gift sets, and had to share them with you because they are so adorable this year.  They have so many sets out right now at all different price points.  I am going to show you some of the sets that stuck out to me as especially interesting, but there are many more, so you should definitely check them out in store or online at thebodyshop.com or ulta.com to see if you are interested in anything else they have to offer.  Let’s get started with the cutest gifts ever.

Jingle Gels Sleigh

Jingle Gels Sleigh

Jingle Gels Sleigh $15– “Jingle all the way to a great pampering gift with this collection of mini fruity shower gels, presented in a fun and festive sleigh, they make a great stocking filler.”  A sleigh full of “Jingle Gels”.  I mean, come on, that’s the cutest thing ever.  Scents include Satsuma, Strawberry, Mango, and Moringa.  The Body shop scents are very pure and true to the name.  I think the shower gels are great, and this is a wonderful stocking stuffer or part of a larger beauty gift.

Gliding Lotions Sleigh

Gliding Lotions Sleigh

Gliding Lotions Sleigh $15– “Glide on into the festive season with this collection of mini fruity and nutty body lotions. Presented in a fun and festive sleigh, they make a great stocking filler.”  If shower gels aren’t your thing, the lotion set is just as cute.  You get the Shea Body Whip, Mango Body Whip, Strawberry Body Puree, and Coconut Body Milk in this set.  They had similar sets last year in a large tube (though this packaging is much cuter) that I bought and split up for multiple people.  They were a big hit.

Festive Body Moisture Trio

Festive Body Moisture Trio

Festive Body Moisture Trio $18– “Try all the treats this season! This trio of mini body butters comes in three seasonal scents, making it the perfect way to discover your favorite. With Community Fair Trade shea butter from Ghana.”  This set includes the three limited edition holiday scents: Frosted Cranberry, Vanilla Brulée, and Glazed Apple.  This is just one of several different gift sets for each of these seasonal scents, so be sure to take a look on the website or browse a store to see them all before they are gone.

The Jolly Lippy Lolly

The Jolly Lippy Lolly

The Jolly Lippy Lolly $20– “Get lippy with this collection of five juicy, moisturizing lip balms. In a fun lollipop box, it’s a great stocking filler. Tempting fruity flavor in a travel-ready pot. With Community Trade beeswax from Zambia.”  I am a lip balm junkie, so this would be an awesome gift.  I haven’t tried the Born Lippie lip balms from The Body Shop, so I don’t know how they perform.  But this would be a great way to try them out.  Scents include Strawberry, Raspberry, Satsuma, Watermelon, and Passion Berry.

Candy Kisses

Candy Kisses

Candy Kisses $20– “Get ready for mistletoe mischief with this cute candy-cane shaped gift. Sweeten up your kisses with five luscious Lip Butters in some of our favorite fruity, nutty and gourmand flavors.”  This set includes Strawberry, Honeymania, Coconut, Shea, and Mango lip butters.  I have always wanted to try the Lip butters from The Body Shop, so this set looks great to me.  What’s even more exciting is that Honeymania is included in this set, and it may be my favorite Body Shop scent.

The Best of Body Butter Snow Globe

The Best of Body Butter Snow Globe

The Best of Body Butter Snow Globe $25– “Discover a world of Body Butters! With fruity, floral and nutty flavors, this fun snow globe shaped gift is the perfect way to discover our iconic Body Butter. With Community Fair Trade shea butter from Ghana.”  The Body Shop Body Butters are fantastic.  They are my favorite Body Butters out there, and this is a great gift to get.  I may have to get this for myself, it’s so good.  Scents include Coconut, Shea, Moringa, Strawberry, and Satsuma.

The Body Shop Beauty Advent Calendar

The Body Shop Beauty Advent Calendar

Beauty Advent Calendar $50– “Countdown to Christmas in skin-loving style with The Body Shop’s Beauty Advent Calendar. This extra-special treat features a beauty surprise behind every door, from best-selling body and face care to iconic fragrance, plus our latest additions: Glazed Apple, Wild Argan Oil and Colour Crush™ Nail Colours. Make it holiday every day!” I saved the best for last.  I am so excited that US beauty brands are starting to release Advent calendars.  This year we have one from Benefit, a 12 day calendar from Tarte, and this one from The Body Shop.  Maybe I am just a sucker for Advent calendars in general, but I think that this is just the cutest thing ever and want one very badly.  Inside you will find a variety of soaps, lotions, shower gels, nail care and fragrance.  I do not believe that the Advent Calendar is available from Ulta at this time, so you need to get it directly from The Body Shop.

If I listed every gift set The Body Shop was offering, this post would be five times as long, so I’ll stop here.  The Body Shop is so good for creating “pamper me” gift baskets.  Last Christmas I gave my mother and my sister large gift baskets full of skin care and bath & body products.  They loved them.  Neither my mother nor my sister were very familiar with The Body Shop, and both of them were so impressed with the quality.  The scents smell so natural and lovely.  I really like The Body Shop’s philosophies towards the environment and the global community.  For example, they are teaming up with War Child, the global charity for children affected by war, to grant children the wish of education.  For every specially selected gift that is bought (and all of the products that I listed here are part of the program), The Body Shop will make a small contribution to War Child that funds a class for a child.  I definitely recommend that you give The Body Shop a try this Holiday season.  With so many great gifts, you can’t go wrong.
