Party Owls for my Birthday

Party Owls for my Birthday

My birthday was on Friday, and I had this absolutely adorable Party Owl manicure to help celebrate.  These owl and cupcake water decals are just a few of the great designs that are part of this 10-Piece Water Decal Set from the Born Pretty Store.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, water decals are some of my favorite things.  I am not very good at nail art, but water decals make it so easy to have a really interesting and complicated-looking manicure whenever I want.  If you want to talk about a great deal, this is it.  There are ten sheets of water decals with owls, flowers, and more in this set now available for a sale price of $5.00.  That’s only 50 cents each.  Most of these sheets are available individually for $1-$2 each, so getting them in this set is a huge savings.

BPS Water Decal Set

BPS 10 Piece Water Decal Set

There are some great designs in this set.  I really love the cartoonish owls and the birds with feathers.  There is a pretty good variety of floral decals.  Some are pop-art and modern, and some are more classic and feminine.  And of course, you know me, I can not wait to use that nautical themed sheet of decals.  There are so many possible manicures out of this set that go from fun and funky to classy and sophisticated.  Here is a closer look.

I haven’t had time to use all 10 sheets of decals, but here is a shot of three different manicures that I have done.  The party owls are over Essie Find Me An Oasis.  The blue flower/butterfly design is over Sinful Colors Snow me White.  The black floral decals are all by themselves with no base color.

I can not recommend this 10 Piece Water Decal Set enough.  I really think that it is a great deal.  I have several reviews for products that I have received from the Born Pretty Store, and you can see the other BPS reviews I have done by clicking on the Born Pretty Store link in the “Categories” section on the right hand side of the blog.  As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, the Born Pretty Store is located in China, so shipping will take a while.  It is normal for orders to take 2-4 weeks to ship to the US, and in my experience, I have gotten most of my orders within 2-3weeks.  You should definitely plan ahead if you are ordering something time sensitive like holiday items and order them early.  Orders ship within 24 hours.  Check out the BPS website bornprettstore.com, or their facebook page for more details.  For 10% off any regular priced items from the website, use coupon code BBBK31.

Bright Stripes Rainbow Nails

Check out this super fun and colorful manicure using these bright, stripey Water Decals from the Born Pretty Store.  I am so happy with how it came out.  Can I just say that water decals have become my nail art obsession.  They are so easy to use.  The Born Pretty Store has a huge selection of water decals and you can find unique designs like these ones.  I have several reviews for products that I have received from the Born Pretty Store, and you can see the other BPS reviews I have done by clicking on the Born Pretty Store link in the “Categories” section on the right hand side of the blog.  But first, let’s talk about these super bright rainbow decals.

Rainbow Nails

Bright Stripes Water Decals

There are 11 sets of designs on this large sheet, so the possible design combinations are endless.  There are 5 colors, pink, orange, yellow, blue, and green in all 11 design sets, so it is very easy to mix and match elements to create your own unique looks.  The thinner stripes can be a little finicky, so I recommend using tweezers to remove the decal from the backing and place them on the nail.  Once you get the hang of it, they are easy as pie to work with and so much fun.  Here is a closer look.

For my manicure, I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the base color.  Then I kind of mixed and matched designs that looked interesting to me.  There are so many that I can’t wait to create another look using this sheet.  The only issue that I ran into is that the yellow designs are a little hard to see.  Perhaps with a different base color there would be enough of a contrast that the yellow would show up better, but it got lost into the white.  Even with that one caveat, I definitely recommend this sheet to you.  It’s a great deal to get all of these designs at once instead of having to buy them individually.  Two thumbs up.

Check out this super fun and colorful manicure using checkered Water Decals from the Born Pretty Store.  I am so happy with how it came out.  Can I just say that water decals have become my nail art obsession!  They are so easy to use and they look so professional.  I have several reviews for products that I have received from the Born Pretty Store, and you can see the other BPS reviews I have done by clicking on the Born Pretty Store link in the “Categories” section on the right hand side of the blog.  So, let’s talk about these checker print decals.

BPS Mini Rhombus Grids Water Decals

BPS Mini Rhombus Grids Water Decals

Born Pretty calls these Mini Rhombus Grids, and you can find them (as well as three flower print border decals) by clinking the link.  There are three different sizes of what I call checker print, and then two sizes of a diamond pattern.  They would be great for NASCAR fans who wanted to do a checkered flag manicure for racing day.  When I saw them, all I could picture was a cute pop-art style mani.  I thought the checker border would be great with a colorblock look.  So I scavenged through my nail polish collection or some fun, bright colors, and this is what I came up with.

BPS Checkered Water Decals

BPS Checkered Water Decals

I went very budget friendly for this manicure and used e.l.f. nail polish.  Though the colors aren’t coming out true to life for some unfathomable reason, they are close enough to be getting on with.  I have Electric Fuchsia on my thumb and one half of my middle fingers.  I have Teal (which is looking more minty than it should) on the other half of my middle fingers and also on my pointer and pinkie fingers.  I used scotch tape for a clean, crisp line on the colorblocked nails.  I used the widest checker design on my thumbs, and the next size down for the border line on my middle fingers.  For size reference, I used the whole stripe of mid-sized checkers (there are two) on my four middle fingers, but only half of the wide design on my thumbs.  So, basically I have enough that I can do this exact manicure again with the designs provided (plus the diamond and small check patterns, of course).  The water decals were extremely easy to apply, seeing as they were straight lines.  They are definitely beginner-friendly.

Disney Princesses Abound

Disney Princess Water Decals

Disney Princess Water Decals

I am showing my Disney side again with today’s review.  Princesses abound with these Water Decals from the Born Pretty Store.  I have several reviews for products that I have received from the Born Pretty Store, and you can see the other BPS reviews I have done by clicking on the Born Pretty Store link in the “Categories” section on the right hand side of the blog.  To see my other Disney themed manicures and reviews of the Mickey Stamp and  Mickey Glitter, click on the these links.  But today, let’s talk princesses.

Disney Princess Water Decals

Disney Princess Water Decals

This sheet of water decals is just chock full of designs inspired by Ariel, Belle, and Princess Jasmine.  Not only do you have all three princesses named and silhouetted several times over, but there are other object that are associated with them pictured as well.  There are dolphins and aquatic flowers, as well as a bubble border for Ariel.  You have lotus blossoms (I think) and lamps for Jasmine, with a gorgeous blue and purple border decal.  And for Belle there are roses, a rose border, and… well… bells.  There are also heart images and the words “kiss” and “love” that would work for any of the princesses.  Instead of doing a regular mani with just one of them, I decided to show you all three princesses and the variety that this sheet of decals can provide.

Princess Jasmine Water Decals

Princess Jasmine Water Decals

For Princess Jasmine, I chose to use the full color silhouette on one nail, and her name with a genie lamp on the other.  The full size silhouettes are rather long, so they would look best on medium to long nails.  Those with short nails may have a hard time getting them to fit.  Otherwise, the decals applied very easily.  For my base color, I used Ulta Don’t be Shellfish from the LE “Under the Sea” collection.  When I do a full Jasmine mani, I will definitely be using that beautiful blue and purple border decal.  I am just so excited to see these designs, because they are so unique.  You don’t see many Princess Jasmine inspired products, so it’s nice to have them.

Ariel Water Decals

Ariel Water Decals

For Ariel, I had to use a blue base color.  To keep it light, I chose Went N Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint.  For the decals, I opted for the aquatic flower with the word kiss (as in “Kiss the Girl”) on one finger, and Ariel’s signature silhouette on the other.  What I mean by signature silhouette is that, if you look closely, you can see that each princess has a larger silhouette with a distinct border around her.  Belle is pictured in a square frame (window?) with a rose in the corner.  Jasmine is framed in an Arabic style window.  Ariel’s signature silhouette has her surrounded by a circle of bubbles with a wave cresting on the bottom.  I think a Little Mermaid themed mani would be absolutely adorable, and can’t wait to do it for my next trip to Disneyland.  I did have a small issue with the silhouette trying to wrinkle when I was applying, but it was the first one that I did, so I chalk that up to user error.  The other decals applied perfectly.

Belle Water Decals

Belle Water Decals

Finally, I have my Belle themed nail.  For the base color, I applied Rimmel 60 Second nail polish in Let’s Get Nude from the Rita Ora collection.  Since I only had one nail left, I decided to use one of the smaller silhouettes.  All of the smaller sized silhouettes have the same oval with the bow on top.  To complete the look I added two opposite facing roses on the bottom.  I think the nail looks great, and I would absolutely do a full manicure in this color scheme.  It came out really lovely.  The only complaint that I have is that I think Belle got a bit short changed in the design department.  The roses are very nice, but they are certainly in abundance.  I just feel that the creators of this item could have put just a bit more thought into Belle’s designs.  Otherwise, again, the deals applied easily and they will make a great full manicure.

Disney Princess Water Decals

Disney Princess Water Decals

One thing that I should note is that, for the first time, I received a “damaged” product from Born Pretty.  I put that in quoted because “damaged” is a relative term.  The sheet arrived completely folded over itself, so there was a bend mark across the product.  I purposefully chose decals in that bended area to see if they would look damaged on the nail, but they were fine.  The nature of water decals make them hardier than stickers, for example (they are thin plastic I think).  I am not complaining, and everything is fine, but since this is the first time anything like this has happened in the many shipments from Born Pretty, I thought it was worth a mention.

Disney Princess Water Decals

Disney Princess Water Decals

All in all, I am thrilled with my Disney princess water decals.  What Disney fan wouldn’t be?  The sheet is currently on sale for $2.65, which is a great price considering how many designs are on the sheet.  As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, the Born Pretty Store is located in China, so shipping will take a while.  It is normal for orders to take 2-4 weeks to ship to the US, and in my experience, I have gotten most of my orders within 2-3weeks.  You should definitely plan ahead if you are ordering something time sensitive (like for a vacation or holiday items) and order them early.  Orders ship within 24 hours.  Check out the BPS website bornprettstore.com, or their facebook page for more details.  For 10% off any regular priced items from the website, use coupon code BBBK31.

Review: BPS Nautical Themed Water Decals

Nautical Themed Water Decals

Nautical Themed Water Decals

I have such a fun product to review for you today.  I really love nautical theming with anchors, compasses or ship’s wheels, so I am all over these adorable nautical themed water decals.  It’s probably my favorite item from the Born Pretty Store that I have gotten so far.  (You can see the other BPS reviews I have done by clicking on the Born Pretty Store link in the “Categories” section on the right hand side of the blog.)  I had so much fun playing with these decals, and I love the look that I created with them.

Nautical Themed Water Decals

Nautical Themed Water Decals

There are 20 decal images on this sheet, four each of five different designs.  It’s a pretty good mix of anchors, compass and sextant style images.  You can do all sorts of fun and interesting looks with these decals.  I found them extremely easy to apply, and they did not slip or fold up on me at all.  If you haven’t seen my previous water decal reviews and aren’t sure what water decals are, they are basically temporary tattoos for your nails.  They arrive with a clear plastic sheet over the designs that you remove.  Then cut out the design you want, and soak them in water, peel away the paper backing, and stick them on your nails.  You need to take your time because the paper backing needs to be completely soaked through.  You will know when the decals are ready to be applied when they easily slide off the paper.  Then press them down once they are placed on your nail and don’t touch them until they are completely dry.  These nautical decals are a good medium size size that will work for either long or shorter nails.

Nautical Themed Water Decals

Nautical Themed Water Decals

I chose to go with a traditional nautical look with navy and white polish.  I used e.l.f. Skinny Jeans for my outside nails, and Sinful Colors Snow Me White on the two middle fingers.  I then stamped the wave pattern from the BPS stamping plate that I reviewed here with e.l.f. Pot of Gold.  I chose four different decals (two per hand) so that you could see as many as possible.  Everything is topped with Seche Vite.  The above image is my left hand, and my right hand is below.  (Note to self: it is not easy to take a picture of your right hand with no tripod.  The shutter is on the right side of the camera, and things get interesting (read: blurry) when you try to shoot lefty.)

Nautical Themed Water Decals

Nautical Themed Water Decals

I really have nothing but love for these water decals.  I can’t get enough of them.  I wore this manicure for six days, and only took it off because the e.l.f. polish was chipping away.  The decals were still going strong.  I highly recommend these Nautical Themed Water Decals.  They are so cool, and really easy to use.  They are currently available from Born Pretty for $2.86.  They would look great in a red, white, and blue Memorial Day or 4th of July mani.

14 Best of 2014

Best of 2014

Best of 2014

It is time for my wrap up of the products that I liked best in 2014.  These are products that didn’t necessarily come out in 2014, but that I loved and used in 2014.  It’s basically my most favorite of all my favorite products for the year.  If you have been paying attention over the last year, all of these products should be familiar to you.  I have mentioned all of them in at least one “Favorites” post, though I do try not to be too repetitive in those posts as much as possible.  These are definitely the products that I have been reaching for throughout the year, so let me get started.

Derma MD Copper CoQ10 Moisturizer

Derma MD Copper CoQ10 Moisturizer

First up, let’s talk skincare.  In 2014 I discovered Derma MD when they sent me several products for review.  The product that I have loved most from the brand is the Derma MD Copper CoQ10 Moisturizer.  This is my third bottle, and I am sure that I will continue to use the Copper CoQ10 for a while.  It has helped reduce my redness so much, which is my number one skin concern.  I love the moisturizer because it is not greasy or oily in the slightest, but delivers a ton of hydration that lasts for hours.  It is extremely lightweight and absorbs into the skin so easily that you don’t even notice it.  I think that it would be appropriate for all skin types, oily or dry.  It is a great product, and I recommend it to anyone.  Derma MD is often featured on sites like Hautelook and Rue La La to cut the cost by a significant amount.  I also have a 50% off promo code at dermamdskincare.com for my readers.  Enter code beautybudget at check out to receive the discount.

The Body Shop Honemania

The Body Shop Honeymania

Moving away from the face to the body is the Honeymania scent from The Body Shop.  I love this scent so much.  I have body butter, lip butter, and shower gel in Honeymania.  It smells like honey and wild flowers, and is just a gorgeous fresh scent.  I actually prefer the formula of the body butter more from The Body Shop than from Bath & Body Works.  It is less greasy and absorbs into the skin better.  Honestly though, I almost don’t care what product it is as long as it is in the Honeymania scent.  😉

Coastal Scents Bionic Flat Top Buffer

Coastal Scents Bionic Flat Top Buffer

Moving on to tools, the Coastal Scents Bionic Flat Top Buffer is a dead-on dupe for the Sigma F80, but for a fraction of the cost.  This is my favorite style of brush for blending in foundation.  I have a review for all of the details about how the brush performs.  The bristles are soft and densely packed, making it a fantastic foundation brush because it feels comfortable on the skin and blends everything out easily and evenly.  The handle is shorter than most, so the brush fits much easier into makeup bags than similar brushes.  I have washed it countless times, and have had no issues with shedding or bleeding.  The Bionic Flat Top Buffer is very well made and a high quality brush.  If you are considering getting the F80 you should consider this one first.

Sigma E-36 Blending Brush

Sigma E36 Blending Brush

One brush from Sigma that is 100% worth the hype and the money is the Sigma E36 Blending Brush.  This brush is essential for me.  I have hooded lids that aren’t too big, and this brush fits in the cease perfectly.  I can lay down dark crease shades without them getting out of control and taking over my look.  The E36 is very thin and has long, slightly firm bristles.  The small fluffy brush is just perfect for precision blending and I use it all the time.  It may be too small for those with really large eyes, but it’s so perfect for me.

Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation & Revlon Nearly Naked Powder

Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation & Revlon Nearly Naked Powder

When it comes to face makeup, my foundation and powder are repeat favorites that I had from last year.  I am combining them and only counting them as one because it is the pair of products used together that is my true favorite.  I am talking about the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation and the Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder, both of which have me scraping the bottom to get the last bit.  The Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous is really great and unique because it works equally well for those with oily or dry skin.  Very few products truly are for all skin types, but this foundation really is.  CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous is mattifying, without drying out your skin.  It has solid medium coverage, but is still lightweight and not cakey.  The best part is that it lasts all day long, even in the worst heat and humidity.  I definitely think that it is one of the best drugstore options for foundation.  Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder is such a good product that if you haven’t tried it yet, you absolutely must.  I love how light it is, and the soft focus effect it gives to my skin is lovely.  It blurs the imperfections and makes me look younger.  Revlon Nearly Naked is (for me) the absolute best powder in the drugstore and definitely one that I will repurchase.  It’s tough for me to use up products all the way because I have so much makeup to choose from.  It says a lot that both of these products are basically empty.  I highly recommend them both.

Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Poetic

Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Poetic

Hopefully you aren’t sick of me talking about the Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Poetic, because it was definitely a major favorite for me this past year.  Poetic is a warm, nude peach with a satin finish that looks good for any occasion and on many different skin tones.  The Forever Blush formula is so great in general.  The blushes apply smoothly and evenly, and they have great pigmentation and staying power. You can read my full review to see swatches and get more details on the Forever Blushes.  Poetic is my favorite, though, because it is such a universally flattering shade.  I strongly recommend that you check it out.

Maybelline Master Hi-Light blush in Mauve

Maybelline Master Hi-Light blush in Mauve

I haven’t mentioned the Maybelline Master Hi-Light blush in Mauve since the Spring, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been using it.  It is such a beautiful shade, and it wears really well.  Mauve has definitely become one of my favorite blushes, especially when I want to skip highlighter and use a blush with some shimmer.  It is sort of a plum toned rose-gold shade that is different than any other shade I have in my collection.  The shimmer particles are finely milled and do not look chunky or glittery.  It gives me a lovely sheen and looks great.  A little goes a really long way, so I’ll have this blush for a long time.  I really love it.

Lorac Pro Palette 2

Lorac Pro Palette 2

There is no way that I can talk about my favorite products of 2014 without mentioning the Lorac Pro Palette 2.  It is probably my favorite palette of all of the palettes that I own, which says a lot because I have so many of them.  For me, the Lorac Pro 2 has such a perfect mix of shades that I can easily come up with dozens of looks that are beautiful and distinct without having to think too much about it.  I love that, unlike the Naked palettes, there are plenty of matte shades as well as the shimmers for looks that have more complexity and that wear better on aging eyes.  The neutral everyday shades are appropriate for any situation, and the few colorful shades add some whimsy and set the Lorac Pro 2 apart from most other neutral palettes.  The mix of warm and cool tones makes the palette universally flattering and a good choice for anyone.  All the shades have great pigmentation and blend very well with each other without getting muddy.  I personally don’t need primer when I use LORAC shadows to get crease-free wear that lasts all day.  I can not recommend this palette enough.  Feel free to read my full review of the Lorac Pro 2 with swatches for more information on the palette.

bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow

bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow

In 2014 I discovered bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow and have been so impressed.  I don’t know why it took me so long to try bareMinerals, but I have really been enjoying the brand.  I first tried a mini bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in “The Epiphany” that I got in a kit over the Holidays last year.  I could not get enough of the creamy, silky formula.  I reach for that duo all the time.  Next, I purchased the bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 4.0 in “The Soundrack” and that same buttery texture had me hooked.  The shadows feel so luxe and expensive on the skin- a real high quality experience.  My most recent bareMinerals purchase is the READY Eyeshadow 4.0 in “The Happy Place” that was just delivered a week or so ago.  It is absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t wait to play some more with it.  BareMinerals READY Eyeshadows are a little pricey, but they are worth it in my opinion.

e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic

e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic

How many times have I talked about e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic this last year?  I have enjoyed the Smudge Pots in general, but Cruisin Chic is the number one “must-have” of the bunch.  The gel formula doesn’t crease, but also doesn’t dry out my lids.  It is lightweight and hardly noticeable.  It lasts all day long without fading.  And the best part is that the e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic is only $3 (e.l.f. recently raised their prices).  Be sure to check out my review of the Smudge Pots.  Cruisin Chic is gorgeous brown-based metallic taupe.  It is a great everyday option that looks so multidimensional that I can get away with wearing it all by itself, but it still looks like I put way more effort into the look.  It couldn’t be easier to apply with either a brush or your fingers.  I can’t think of a single reason why you shouldn’t get it.  Trust me, you need this in your life.

Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment

Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment

Another products that should be no surprise to find in my Best of 2014 roundup are the Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatments.  Though I had tried them before this last year, I became obsessed with them in 2014.  I love the way that they make my lips feel.  The Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatments are so hydrating and have a beautiful sheer wash of color that looks so natural and pretty.  My two favorite shades out of the line are Sugar Rose and Sugar Berry.  Sugar Rose is very sheer, but still gives my lips some life.  The look is almost like my lips have a fresh kiss blush that is quite attractive.  Sugar Berry is a plum-toned berry shade that has still has decent pigmentation, despite being a sheer balm.  It is what I wear when I want color on my lips, but still want my lips to look natural.  I have really fallen for the Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment line.  They are definitely a splurge, but I really think that they are worth a go.

Nivea Kiss of... Lip Care

Nivea Kiss of… Lip Care

My other lip love of 2014 is much more affordable, but just as wonderful.  I am addicted to the Nivea Kiss of Milk and Honey and Nivea Kiss of Olive Oil & Lemon lip balms.  I am a lip balm junkie, and I continue to try new lip balms when I get them in Ipsy bags or something like that, but I keep coming back to Nivea.  These balms are so extremely hydrating.  I have really dry lips, and am constantly re-applying my lip products.  The Nivea balms last longer than most, and the formula is lightweight and silky without being greasy or waxy.  They have no noticeable taste, and the pleasant scent is extremely subtle and only lasts during application.  They are fantastic, and I can’t live without them.

Born Pretty Store Water Decals

Born Pretty Store Water Decals

One of my favorite new discoveries from 2014 are the Water Decals that I’ve been getting from the Born Pretty Store.  I had never heard of water decals before Born Pretty contacted me.  There was a steep learning curve for figuring out how to use water decals, and the first two attempts were somewhat painstaking.  By my third try, however, I had my technique down and they were easy as pie.  I absolutely love how professional water decals make my nails look.  I don’t go to the salon to get manicures, and I have extremely limited talent when it comes to nail art.  Let’s be honest, I can barely paint my nails without making a mess.  But the water decals make my clumsy efforts look expertly executed.  They are basically a temporary tattoo for nails, and (once you get the hang of it) really easy to use.  I have gotten all of my water decals from the Born Pretty Store, so you can either type “water decals” in the search box or just click the Born Pretty category on the right hand side of the page for a closer look at the manicures that I have come up with using water decals.  They are really fun and my new favorite way to do nail art.

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia fragrance

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia fragrance

Finally, my favorite fragrance has been Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia.  Oh my god, you guys, it smells so good!   Acqua di Gioia is a fresh, clean aquatic scent, with light citrus and floral notes.  It instantly transports me to a villa in the Mediterranean, and I can’t get enough of it.  The image in my head when I smell Acqua di Gioia is of clean blue water and fluffy white towels.  The name means “water of joy” and I can’t think of a better and more accurate name for the scent.  My husband also loves it and always compliments me when I wear it.  In fact, he liked it so much he picked up the men’s version for himself.  You have to smell Acqua di Gioia, if you haven’t already.  It is truly lovely.

And that completes my Best of 2014 post.  These posts are hard to do because I have used so many great products over the year.  I do think that I was able to round up the best of the best, so to speak.  These are the products that have gotten the most love over the year and that I would recommend the most to you.  I hope that you saw something that you like.  Let me know what your favorite products have been throughout 2014.  Are there items that I really need to try?  Tell me about them in the comments below.

Hey everyone, today I have a quick Nail of the Day post to share with you.  This is my Happy Halloween manicure.  I think it looks adorable, and am really happy with it.  The best part is that it took no time at all to do, which is great because, as you know, right now no time is exactly what I have.  My nails are pretty short right now because of packing and whatnot, (I also apologize for the sad state of my nails and cuticles, but you know how it is) and I think this works really well for short nails.  I used Sinful Colors Citrine and Black on Black for the polish, and topped them with water decals from Born Pretty.

Here are close ups of the water decals.  You can find them here at bornprettstore.com (For 10% off on regular priced items, use coupon code BBBK31.) They are super cute, and they took minutes to apply.  I’m really getting the hang of water decals now, and I love how easy they are.  Obviously, it’s too late to order for this year, but keep them in mind for next year.  If you want to achieve a similar look, I believe I saw that Kiss has some Halloween themed nail stickers at Walgreens for $2.99.

Here is a look at both hands.  It’s not the most complicated manicure I’ll ever do, (or frankly, the neatest, lol) but I like it.  It’s perfect for something last minute before Friday gets here.  Speaking of, I am happy to say that my costume is all set with a couple days to spare.  Yay!  No last-minute running around this year.  It’s our last year here in NC with my niece, so the Hubs and I are going over to my sister’s house.  We are all dressing up and taking the kids Trick-or Treating.  I’m going to be a Fall Fairy with a gigantic tu-tu, ’cause that’s how I roll. 😉  How about you?  What are you doing for Halloween?  Are you dressing up?  Let me know in the comments below.
